چکیده

Graph matching is an essential problem in computer vision and machine learning. In this paper, we introduce a random walk view on the problem and propose a robust graph matching algorithm against outliers and deformation. Matching between two graphs is formulated as node selection on an association graph whose nodes represent candidate correspondences between the two graphs. The solution is obtained by simulating random walks with reweighting jumps enforcing the matching constraints on the association graph. Our algorithm achieves noiserobust graph matching by iteratively updating and exploiting the confidences of candidate correspondences. In a practical sense, our work is of particular importance since the real-world matching problem is made difficult by the presence of noise and outliers. Extensive and comparative experiments demonstrate that it outperforms the state-of-the-art graph matching algorithms especially in the presence of outliers and

Halting in Random Walk Kernels

Random walk kernels measure graph similarity by counting matching walks in two graphs. In their most popular form of geometric random walk kernels, longer walks of length k are downweighted by a factor of λ (λ < 1) to ensure convergence of the corresponding geometric series. We know from the field of link prediction that this downweighting often leads to a phenomenon referred to as halting: Lon...

Multi-layer Random Walks Synchronization for Multi-attributed Multiple Graph Matching

Many applications in computer vision can be formulated as a multiple graph matching problem that finds global correspondences across a bunch of data. To solve this problem, matching consistency should be carefully considered with matching accuracy to prevent conflicts between graph pairs. In this paper, we aim to solve a multiple graph matching problem in complicated environments by using multi...

A Random Walk Kernel Derived from Graph Edit Distance

Random walk kernels in conjunction with Support Vector Machines are powerful methods for error-tolerant graph matching. Because of their local definition, however, the applicability of random walk kernels strongly depends on the characteristics of the underlying graph representation. In this paper, we describe a simple extension to the standard random walk kernel based on graph edit distance. T...

Spectral Clustering with Epidemic Diffusion

Spectral clustering is widely used to partition graphs into distinct modules or communities. Existing methods for spectral clustering use the eigenvalues and eigenvectors of the graph Laplacian, an operator that is closely associated with random walks on graphs. We propose a spectral partitioning method that exploits the properties of epidemic diffusion. An epidemic is a dynamic process that, u...

A Product Graph Based Method for Dual Subgraph Matching Applied to Symbol Spotting

Product graph has been shown as a way for matching subgraphs. This paper reports the extension of the product graph methodology for subgraph matching applied to symbol spotting in graphical documents. Here we focus on the two major limitations of the previous version of the algorithm: (1) spurious nodes and edges in the graph representation and (2) inefficient node and edge attributes. To deal ...
